An exciting opportunity has presented for an enthusiastic and committed Junior School teacher to join our dedicated, vibrant and creative learning community in 2027. The Junior School Sport Coordinator & HPE Teacher is a dual-function role that sits at the heart of sport and physical education in the Junior School (Pre Prep–Year 6).

Working closely with the Director of Sport and Activities (P–12), this role works as part of the School’s Sport Leadership team to create meaningful, inclusive and enriching experiences for all students in our Junior School.

Commencing Term 1 2027, this is a Full-Time 5-year leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching - HPE Curriculum

Deliver engaging and inclusive HPE lessons for students from Pre Prep to Year 6 in line with the Australian Curriculum.

Plan, assess and report on student learning, maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Create student-centred learning experiences that support participation, wellbeing and achievement.

Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and development.

Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student wellbeing, inclusion and cross-curricular learning.

Utilise digital technologies to enhance teaching, assessment and administration.

Contribute to curriculum development, resource creation and professional learning initiatives.

Sports Coordination - Operations and Delivery

Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the Junior School sports program, including APS competitions, inter-house sport, carnivals, gala days, skill development programs,



training sessions and recreational sporting opportunities.

Manage all operational aspects of Junior School sport, including calendars, fixtures, team nominations, venue bookings, transport, equipment, facilities and event logistics to ensure programs run smoothly and safely.

Coordinate team trials, selections and representative sport pathways, ensuring processes are inclusive, transparent and aligned with the school's commitment to participation, development and excellence.

Work closely with the Director of Sport and Activities, Sport Administrator and Head of Junior School to implement the school's sport strategy and support a seamless P-12 sporting pathway.

Oversee the administration of Junior School sport, including registrations, attendance tracking, participation records, student nominations, budgeting and reporting.

Coordinate and support coaches, officials and staff involved in Junior School sport, ensuring appropriate standards, accreditations, compliance and positive student experiences.

Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture that reflects the values of Truth, Faith and Compassion, encouraging participation, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship and student wellbeing.

Support the identification and development of student athletes, connecting students with representative opportunities and long-term development pathways.

Contribute to the ongoing development of school sport programs, policies and initiatives, while advocating for the physical activity and wellbeing needs of Junior School students.

About You

Our ideal candidate will bring;

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education (HPE)

Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.





Working with Children check - Blue Card (exemption).

Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

Experience teaching HPE and coordinating school sport programs, competitions and events, ideally in a Junior School setting.

Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education and contemporary teaching practices.

Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences that support student wellbeing, participation and achievement.

Excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Proven ability to work collaboratively, provide leadership and support coaches, staff and volunteers.

Commitment to child safeguarding, professional growth, and the values and ethos of All Saints Anglican School.
