The Position

Toowoomba Grammar School is seeking an inspiring and collaborative leader for the position of Head of Junior School. The Head of Junior School is responsible for the leadership, strategic development, growth and management of the Toowoomba Grammar School Junior School.

Reporting directly to the Headmaster, the Head of Junior School is a member of the School Executive and plays a significant role in shaping the strategic direction and future success of Toowoomba Grammar School.

The Head of Junior School leads a thriving and future-focused learning community that develops boys of good character, intellectual curiosity and personal wellbeing.

The position requires a dynamic, visible and highly relational leader who can inspire excellence in teaching and learning, foster strong partnerships with families and contribute meaningfully to the life and leadership of the School.

The Organisation





Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) was founded in 1875. It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

TGS aims for all boys to graduate with the skills to be independent, well-balanced, and successful in life. That they are boys of good character who respond well to challenges and achieve life‑long wellbeing.
