The Workshop Electrician manufactures customised switchboards and switchgear assemblies. The role involves reading drawings, installing electrical components, completing busbar and cabling work, and testing completed switchboards. The position is based in our Granville workshop.

Key responsibilities

- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematic diagrams.
- Assemble enclosures and install switchgear, control equipment and cable containment.
- Install busbar systems and complete power and control cabling, terminations and labelling.
- Test completed switchboards and report any faults, drawing issues or missing information.
- Complete work neatly and accurately in line with drawings, job requirements and electrical standards.
- Use tools, test equipment and PPE correctly, and maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Work safely and cooperate with workshop, engineering, drafting and production colleagues.

About you

- Previous switchboard or control-panel assembly experience.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematic diagrams.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based workshop.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical standards.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to safe work practices.




- Electrical trade qualification and current electrical licence (desirable).
- Current CPR and low-voltage rescue certificate (desirable).
- Good attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills (desirable).
- Site installation, commissioning or fault-finding experience (desirable).
- Forklift, EWP, dogging, White Card or other relevant tickets (desirable).Paid training and development relevant to the role, which may include forklift, EWP, dogging, first aid and LVR/CPR.
- Site uniform and required PPE.
- Applicable tradesperson allowances and overtime opportunities.
- A steady pipeline of varied switchboard projects in an organised workshop environment.
- Optional site-work opportunities for employees with relevant skills, experience and interest.
