Location: La Trobe Melbourne (Bundoora) campus location. Salary starting from $106,472 per annum + 17% Superannuation.
About the role
The Senior Employability Coordinator plays an important role in delivering La Trobe University’s Employability Strategy by coordinating, running, and reviewing programs and events that help students build their career readiness.
Working as part of a collaborative team, the Senior Employability Coordinator helps design and deliver a range of programs that align with student needs and University priorities. These include mentoring and ambassador programs, employability workshops and webinars, and major events such as career expos and industry networking activities.
The role involves working closely with students, staff, industry partners, and alumni to boost student engagement, improve graduate outcomes, and foster valuable connections.
If the Senior Coordinator holds an accredited career development qualification, the role may also include providing one‑on‑one career guidance in line with qualified standards.
Skills and Experience
- An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated high level of self‑motivation and personal management skills.
- Proven ability to focus on objectives rather than procedures and precedents.
- Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.
- Strong event, program, or project management skills, with demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering engagement programs or large‑scale events, preferably in higher education or community settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and provide clear, accurate advice.
