This role is based in Beaudesert, in the heart of the Scenic Rim—just 30 minutes from Logan and around an hour from Ipswich and the Gold Coast.

About the role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced worker to be part of an amazing team who provide targeted support to clients to increase their strength, resilience and development of skills through practical support and case management.
This is a part-time position (30 hours per week) and it is based at our office located in Beaudesert. Working from our different sites may be a requirement of the role. The position is paid at Level 4 of the Social and Community Services classification structure of theSocial, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Industry(SCHADS) Award. Pay point will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Services provided by the Youth and Family Support Team include community development, family support and child and youth support.
Duties will include
- Providing early intervention responses to young people who present with risk factors that may impact their wellbeing
- Supporting young people to prevent disengagement and vulnerability
- Group work in the areas of youth engagement, parent education, healthy family relationship skills and resilience building with families and individuals
- Identifying goals for the future and developing a plan to work through these goals together
- Linking families and young people to other relevant service providers
- Mentoring families and young people by providing practical strategies and assistance
- Building partnerships with other agencies
- This role will require you to travel locally to provide outreach services.
Your skills and experience
- Experience working within a case management framework
- Experience facilitating groups for families and/or young people
- Knowledge, skills and experience in providing prevention and early intervention services to families
- Ability to relate to clients and their families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Knowledge of childhood/youth development and strategies to address family dysfunction
- An appropriate framework for assessment and intervention in relation to family violence and child protection
- Proven experience and qualified ability to problem solve and resolve conflict
- Excellent communication, record keeping and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
Mandatory requirements for this role
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a human services related discipline or a Diploma qualification supported by significant case management experience
- Current Positive Notice Blue Card or ability to obtain
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain
- Current Queensland drivers' licence
