About the Role
Are you a qualified and experienced Lifeguardlooking for Casualwork in a highly regarded team? If you answered Yes, we want you to join our team at the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre!
Your duties will revolve aroundthe supervision of all pool areas to ensure the safety of the swimming public. Key factors foryour success in this vital role will beyourstrong customer focus and service ethic, with the ability to educate and instruct patrons on behaviour and safety.
On a personal level, you will need to be team focused, confident, reliable, self-motivated and have a good eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, efficient and customer‑focused day‑to‑day operation of the RALC
- Provide on‑site leadership and supervision to pool staff
- Manage incidents and confidently respond to emergency situations
- Maintain a safe environment for patrons and staff,
identifying and addressing hazards
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, contractors and centre users
- Supervise, train and support staff in line with policies, procedures and legislative requirements
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards
- Open and close the centre as required
- Assist in developing workplace procedures, rosters and operational documentation
- Monitor and maintain filtration, reticulation and chemical dosing equipment to ensure effective water quality management
- Perform additional duties consistent with the skills and qualifications of the role
Hours of work
Flexibility is essential in your availability to suit our operational requirements. Generally, shifts will vary from 5 to 8 hours in duration and there is an expectation that you will be able to work during the weekdays and weekends.
Pay Rates
Your hourly rate will be $36.79 per hour (includes casual loading) + penalty rates when working on weekends.
- Current Australian Pool Lifeguardcertificate
- Current Australian First Aid certificate
