This is a outstanding opportunity for qualified teachers who enjoy swimming, love working with children, who want to teach the skills of swimming and the value of water safety.
The Role
As a Swimming Teacher you will teach effective Swimming and Water Safety lessons to help grow our swim program. We have lessons running in the mornings, evenings and weekends as a part of our core School Swimming and After School Swimming programs. As such we are seeking staff that are available during school, after school and/or weekends.
We are seeking people who have a passion for swimming and water safety and will positively contribute to our growing program. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun, with a flair for working with children. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensure swim school members, patrons and parents are gaining maximum benefit and enjoyment from the services provided.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs.
The successful candidate will:
- Have an energetic, innovative and inclusive teaching style
- Hold an understanding of OHS and public safety applications within your facility
- Work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of a team
- Be willing to offer flexible schedule across mornings,
afternoons and/or weekends
- Hold or willing to obtain current First Aid (Level 2) & Current CPR
- Hold or willing to obtain current Swim Certificate- Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety (essential)
- AUSTSWIM extension Accreditations (desirable)
- Previous experience and success as a swimming and water safety teacher (desirable)
Note: This position is subject to a satisfactory Working With Children Check (or equivalent) & National Police Check
