Overview

As a Catering Storeman, you will play an important role in supporting the catering operation by ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, stock control, and distribution of food, beverages, and catering supplies. You will help maintain accurate stock levels, uphold food safety standards, and support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen operation.

This is an active, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, values organisation and teamwork, and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

The Role

Receive and check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.

Inspect deliveries to ensure quality standards, temperature requirements, and product specifications are met.

Store goods correctly in accordance with food safety procedures and HACCP requirements.

Rotate stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.

Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory management systems.

Carry out regular stock counts and report any discrepancies.

Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages, damaged items, or excess stock.

Minimise waste and support cost-control initiatives.

Distribute stock efficiently to kitchen, hospitality, and service areas.

Maintain clean, organised, and compliant storage areas.

Provide support to catering teams during busy periods when required.

Adhere to all food safety, COSHH, health and safety, and site security procedures.

Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene at all times.

About You





Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, catering, or hospitality environment is desirable.

Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and safe storage procedures.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Basic IT skills and confidence using stock management systems.

The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

The physical capability to lift, move, and store deliveries safely.

Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment.

A reliable, punctual, proactive, and positive attitude.
