Senior Manager- Client and Operations – Superannuation Melbourne or Sydney | 12-Month Contract | $850–$950 per day incl. Super

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Manager / Operations Leader to join a leading superannuation administration environment on an initial 12-month contract, with potential for the role to become permanent.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing client-focused operations, managing key Trustee and client relationships, and leading a high-performing team to ensure contracted service agreements, operational targets and service standards are consistently achieved.

About the Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of a professional operations function, working closely with key clients and Trustees to deliver exceptional service in a highly regulated and continually evolving environment.

You will lead 3–5 direct reports, with broader leadership responsibility across 50–100 indirect operations employees, including offshore support.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a client-focused operations function, ensuring delivery against contractual SLAs and service agreements.
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with Trustees, clients and key stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop managers and team members, driving performance, engagement and succession planning.
- Act as a senior point of escalation for operational, client and service-related issues.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across Risk & Compliance, Technology, Finance, Change and Operations.




- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Lead teams through organisational and operational change, effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
- Monitor operational risks and ensure appropriate controls are implemented to protect both the client and business.
- Support workforce planning, resource allocation and the effective utilisation of onshore and offshore teams.
- Provide senior leadership with insight and recommendations on emerging operational and client issues.

About You

We are looking for an experienced people leader with a robust background in superannuation or financial services

You will ideally bring:

- Proven experience operating at a Senior Manager / Operations Leader level.
- Strong experience managing Trustee, client or institutional stakeholder relationships.
- A track record of leading and developing small-to-medium sized teams.
- Strong knowledge of superannuation and/or fund administration environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contractual relationships and deliver against SLAs.
- Strong commercial and operational acumen, with the ability to identify and implement improvements.
- Experience managing offshore teams or working across onshore/offshore operating models.
- Strong understanding of operational risk and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
- The ability to operate confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.
