In this role, you would contribute to the provision of a professional administration and Reception service for the Cardiology Diagnostic Department and all its users including patients, relatives and colleagues.

You will plan and organise a range of straightforward tasks to set timescales, to ensure the provision of a professional clerical / administrative / secretarial service by as requested by managers and others, i.e. patients, relatives, colleagues and Trust Staff.

Apply appropriate communication methods using a range of verbal and non-verbal skills effectively and professionally welcoming and treating everyone (patients, relatives, colleagues and Trust Staff) in a friendly and courteous manner presenting a good image of yourself through your attitude, behaviour and appearance.

Produce work of the quality and quantity as required ensuring expected Trust and department standards and deadlines are met.

Contribute to ensuring that the working environment is safe and of a professional appearance reporting any problems, organising repairs/collection of waste as appropriate and maintain efficient and effective use of resources.

Work effectively and efficiently recommending better ways of working, sharing ideas with others to improve service delivery.

Greet visitor’s face-to face and respond to requests for basic information. Receive and respond to straight forward telephone call. Receive and respond to straightforward emails. Complete straightforward forms / administrating / correspondence using templates.

Liaise with colleagues with issues outside your control. Ability to work on call to assist with Major Incidents. Book appointments and transport. Photocopy and filing. Retrieve case notes.

Maintain stock levels and place orders. Collect, open and distribute mail. Input information on Trust systems. Cover other positions with work area during absence and any other administrative duties as required.
