We are seeking a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Merbein on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.

This role will be responsible for ensuring our vehicles and equipment remain mechanically sound, safe and roadworthy, while also supporting general repairs and maintenance across the wider Merbein site.

Responsibilities include:

Performing scheduled and required maintenance across vehicles and equipment.

Ensuring all equipment is mechanically sound and maintained in a roadworthy condition.

Conducting vehicle and equipment checks and arranging maintenance where required.

Identifying and reporting major repairs before work is commenced.

Completing general mechanical repairs and maintenance as required.

Preparing parts orders and coordinating outsourced repair work where necessary.

Maintaining accurate maintenance, repair and vehicle records.





Using and updating the company maintenance system.

Keeping the workshop, mechanics vehicle and equipment clean, safe and organised.

Supporting general repairs across the yard, building and grain facility.

Following MEDLOG safety procedures and reporting hazards, incidents and equipment issues as required.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.

Current HR driver’s licence as a minimum, allowing road testing of prime movers.

HC driver’s licence highly desirable for test driving truck and trailer combinations.

Right to work in Australia.

Strong mechanical and fault-finding capability.

Strong organisational skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, follow instructions and contribute to the wider team.
