We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and reliable OSHC Educators to join our team. This role involves working with children aged 5-12 years in a fun, safe and supportive environment before and after school.

You will work as part of a team to organise and implement engaging activities, support children’s individual needs and help create a positive environment where children feel comfortable, included and valued.

Key Responsibilities

- Actively supervise children at all times, while ensuring safety and appropriate child-to-staff ratios are maintained.
- Help plan and run fun and engaging activities that suit the different interests, abilities and needs of children, including children with additional needs.
- Support positive behaviour and help children develop respectful relationships with others.
- Assist with preparing and serving daily meals and snacks, and being aware of children with allergies and specific dietary requirements.
- Follow all health, safety and wellbeing procedures to ensure children, families and staff are safe.
- Observe and communicate children’s interests, behaviour and development to assist with program planning.
- Keep the service, equipment and activity areas clean, safe and organised.
- Report any concerns, incidents, maintenance issues or other matters that need attention to leadership.
- Take part in staff meetings, training and planning sessions.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the service and support the requirements of the National Quality Standard.
- Work cooperatively with other educators,



leadership and families.

All educators must hold or be working towards a relevant qualification in an area such as Education, Children's Services, Youth Studies or , in line with the National Quality Framework (NQF) for OSHC. You can check whether your studies are NQF approved here:

Understanding of the developmental needs of children aged 5-12 years, including children with additional needs.

Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one before commencing.

Ability to communicate well and build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage responsibilities in a busy environment.

A genuine interest in working with children and helping them have a positive experience at OSHC.

Desirable (but not essential)

- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Anaphylaxis Management Certificate.
- Asthma Management Certificate.
- Previous experience working in OSHC, childcare, education, recreation or a similar setting.

Hours of Work

This is a casual position, with 2-4 hour, versatile shifts available depending on educator availability.

Before School Care:

- Monday-Friday: 2-3 hour shifts beginning and ending between the hours of 6:40am and 10am.

After School Care:

- Monday-Friday: 2-4 hour shifts beginning and ending between the hours of 2:00pm and 6pm.

Days and hours are generally flexible depending on educator availability and the needs of the service.
