This is a temporary full-time opportunity from 24 September 2026 to 21 October 2026 to step into the role of Manager, Student Support Services (AO7) and lead a multi-disciplinary team supporting students across TAFE Queensland SkillsTech.
Based at Acacia Ridge, travel across SkillsTech training locations is required.

The Student Support Services team helps students achieve successful educational outcomes through counselling, disability and learning support, and international student support,.
This opportunity will allow you to lead the team, contribute to service planning and stakeholder engagement, and strengthen consistent, student-centred support across SkillsTech. It is a chance to build leadership experience while making a direct impact on student outcomes.
The role reports to the Director, Educational Strategy & Support Services and works closely with educational delivery, client services and other stakeholders across SkillsTech and TAFE Queensland.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead high-quality student support programs and services aligned with SkillsTech and TAFE Queensland priorities.
- Lead and develop the Student Support Services team, including managing people and performance matters as required.
- Lead the development and implementation of educational programs and staff associated with foundational skills development.
- Ensure services meet regulatory and policy requirements and are ready for audit and review.
- Provide advice to senior leaders to support student outcomes and service improvement.
- Coordinate consistent student support across SkillsTech locations and disciplines, using service performance to identify improvements.
- Build productive stakeholder relationships, represent SkillsTech, and contribute to planning, resource management and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who can step into the role confidently, provide practical leadership and keep the Student Support Services team focused on positive student outcomes.
- Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team and delivering student support services in a complex environment.
- Knowledge of student support approaches and models, ideally within vocational education and training, with the ability to provide sound advice and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills, including the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across a range of areas.
- Sound judgement, initiative and strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, use resources well, build team capability and support continuous improvement.
