Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Events to lead a specialist events team responsible for delivering our flagship events program for the City of Randwick.
Purpose:
The Head of Events is responsible for delivering a suite of signature and civic events across Randwick City which celebrate and promote local culture, connect residents with their community and attract visitors. The role requires creativity and resilience in developing the events program, event delivery and a commitment to continuous improvement.Beyond delivering exceptional experiences, you will inspire and lead your team, while building strong partnerships across Council, community organisations, suppliers and stakeholders.
About the role:
Manage a program of annual events that align with Councils’ strategies and plans.
Manage all operational aspects of Council events from pre-planning through to delivery and evaluation.
Lead and contribute to the creative development of existing and new events
Manage the Events Program budgets and administer reporting requirements for the Program
Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing ethos across your team to benefit both community and council
About you:
Extensive major events sector experience working on a range of diverse events in the public domain.
Minimum 2 years managing a team.
Seeking, developing and maintaining partnerships.
Ability to manage a team of contractors and suppliers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the capacity to respond quickly and flexibly to changing circumstances.
