Your role at St John of God Richmond St John of God Richmond Hospital is a private psychiatric hospital located in North Richmond, NSW, providing comprehensive and holistic mental health care services in a serene and tranquil setting We are seeking a passionate and experienced Grade 1-2 Art Therapist to join our Allied Health team at St John of God Richmond Hospital on a casual basis.
The Position
As an Art Therapist, you will:
- Provide safe, effective and evidence-based art therapy interventions to support the healing, wellbeing and recovery of patients.
- Plan, facilitate and evaluate individual and group art therapy programs using a range of creative and therapeutic modalities.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to comprehensive patient assessment, treatment planning and care.
- Develop and deliver therapeutic programs that respond to the individual needs, goals and clinical presentation of patients.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary team members and external health professionals to support positive patient outcomes.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic programs using agreed clinical outcome measures, such as DASS and HoNOS.
- Contribute to the planning, development, evaluation and continuous improvement of art therapy programs and services.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with relevant legislation and hospital policies.
- Practice in accordance with the Australian, Current Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA) Standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics,
as well as St John of God Health Care policies and guidelines.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative multidisciplinary environment and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
About You
You will hold a tertiary qualification at postgraduate level, or equivalent, in Art Therapy and be eligible for membership with ANZACATA. You will have demonstrated experience delivering both individual and group art therapy, ideally within a mental health or complex clinical setting. You will bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients experiencing a range of complex needs. You will be committed to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development and working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Casual hourly rate: $47.49 to $68.78 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
