About the role

Trendsight is an Australian bookkeeping firm with a clear focus. For our bookkeeping clients, we specialise in the childcare sector and know its operations inside out. For our payroll clients, we are industry agnostic and process payroll across a wide range of sectors. Across both, we run day-to-day payroll, compliance, accounts payable, reconciliations and management reporting so our clients can get on with running their businesses.

We are a fully remote team. That means flexibility in how you work, alongside the structure and support you need to do the job well and keep growing.

About the role

This is a pathway role for an experienced bookkeeper who wants to build a career with us. If you have 3 to 5 years in an Australian bookkeeping environment and you are looking for a explicit route to Senior Bookkeeper, this role is built around getting you there.

You will look after a portfolio of clients from start to finish, owning the numbers, keeping the compliance clock ticking, and being a reliable point of contact for the clients you support.

Day to day, you will:

Look after client communications and keep clients up to date on their bookkeeping

Make sure client deliverables such as payroll, supplier payments and superannuation go out on or before their due dates

Prepare and process payroll and superannuation, including Award compliance, in Employment Hero Payroll

Prepare and lodge compliance obligations including BAS and IAS, Single Touch Payroll finalisation, payroll tax, Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR), WorkCover and Portable Long Service Leave

Manage accounts payable, process client bills in Dext and complete bank reconciliations in Xero

Your pathway to Senior Bookkeeper

This is the heart of the role. We hire experienced bookkeepers and develop them toward a Senior Bookkeeper position,



so you come in with a genuine support structure around you and a clear runway ahead:

You will be supervised by our Team Leader

You will be paired with a dedicated mentor throughout your probationary period

Your more complex client work is reviewed before it goes to the client, so you keep learning while quality stays high

Our Philippines-based bookkeeping team is on hand to help with some of the day-to-day processing

What we are looking for

3 to 5 years of bookkeeping experience with Australian businesses

Exposure to Australian GST and BAS/IAS

Comfortable with technology and quick to pick up new systems (essential)

A degree in accounting, or a Cert IV or Diploma in bookkeeping or accounts administration

Well organised and able to manage your own workload to deadlines in a remote setting

The right to work in Australia

Highly regarded

Experience with childcare or multi-site clients

Experience with Employment Hero Payroll

Experience with Karbon

Familiarity with Dext

Practical use of AI tools to work more efficiently

Software you will use

Xero, Dext, Employment Hero Payroll, Karbon, Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and Microsoft 365.
