Injury & Incident Management Coordinator

We are an established provider of HR & HSEQ services across Australia, supporting client businesses in the construction and waste management industries. This full‑time position is primarily based at our Beverly Hills office in Sydney, while supporting clients and operations across Australia. We are seeking an Injury & Incident Management Coordinator to join our HSEQ team and provide hands‑on support across workplace safety, incident management, injury management, workers compensation and return‑to‑work coordination.
Working closely with our HSEQ team and our clients’ Project Managers, Supervisors and workforces, you will help ensure incidents are effectively managed and investigated, injured workers are supported throughout recovery, and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
About the Role
This position would suit a WHS professional with at least 12 months’ industry experience who is looking to further develop their career in incident investigation and injury management while gaining exposure across multiple high‑risk industries.
You will play an important role in supporting our clients and their workers following workplace injuries and incidents, ensuring matters are properly investigated, corrective actions are followed through, and lessons learned are used to continually improve safety outcomes across the businesses we support.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate workplace injury and incident management from initial notification through to close‑out.
Assist with workplace incident investigations, including gathering evidence,
witness statements and relevant documentation.
Identify contributing factors and assist with developing corrective and preventative actions.
Manage and monitor corrective actions arising from incidents.
Coordinate workers compensation claims and liaise with insurers and rehabilitation providers.
Support injured workers throughout treatment, rehabilitation and return to work.
Develop and monitor suitable duties and return‑to‑work plans.
Maintain communication with workers, supervisors, medical providers and other relevant stakeholders.
Maintain injury, incident, workers compensation and corrective action registers.
Assist with serious and high‑potential incident responses.
Monitor injury and incident trends and provide reports to HSEQ management.
Prepare safety alerts and lessons learned, and support broader HSEQ continuous improvement activities.
About You
To be considered for this position, you will have:
Minimum 1 year experience working in a Work Health & Safety / safety‑related role.
Practical understanding of workplace health and safety principles and incident management.
Experience conducting or assisting with workplace incident investigations.
Strong communication, stakeholder management and written documentation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple incidents, injuries and actions simultaneously.
Confidence communicating with workers, supervisors and management.
A practical, professional and supportive approach to injury management and worker wellbeing.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419 or equivalent) - highly regarded.
Experience within construction, waste management, scaffolding or another high‑risk industry.
Experience with workplace injury management, workers compensation and return to work.
Return to Work Coordinator training or experience.
ICAM or other recognised incident investigation training.
Experience liaising with insurers, rehabilitation providers and medical practitioners.
Knowledge of Australian WHS/OHS and workers compensation requirements, with an understanding of state and territory jurisdictional differences.
Experience working within an ISO 45001 or integrated HSEQ management system.
What We Offer
$90,000 - $100,000 + Super, depending on qualifications and experience.
