Corrections Education Centre is a key portfolio of Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI), delivering high-quality education programs to people in custody in partnership with Corrections Victoria and private prison operators. Through strong collaboration with multiple custodial sites, we play a vital role in supporting rehabilitation by building skills,confidenceand meaningful pathways for reintegration into the community.

Learning delivery is adapted to the custodial context, with paper-based delivery and controlled classroom settings. Our educators work directly with individuals, often navigating diverse learning needs. Working as part ofcollaborative team,you will primarilyoperateindependently, with the autonomy to manage your own classes and schedule. The role involves a mix ofone-on-one support and small group facilitation, requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage learners at varying levels.





We are seeking someone withpreviousexperience working in corrections who understands the environment and can navigate it with professionalism, resilience, and flexibility. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with minimal supervision and confident in creating a structured, supportive learning experience for students.

- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contemporary issues
- Demonstrated experience working with Koorie communities or in culturally inclusive settings (education settings preferable)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Experience delivering training in adult education or vocational settings
- Effective communication skills for working in correctional settings
- Computer proficiency
- Compliance paperwork management
- Ability to teach independently
- Commitment to safety, inclusion, and learner success
