The School
Jurien Bay District High School (DHS) is located on the pristine Turquoise Coast, 200 kilometres North of Perth and 200 kilometres South of Geraldton. The town is surrounded by beautiful beaches and fabulous camping areas. The staff and community are welcoming and is a great place to live and enjoy both work and leisure time.
The school caters for students from Jurien Bay, Leeman, Green Head, Cervantes, Badgingarra and the surrounding farming districts. The school provides an educational service for a range of students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

The Role
The ideal person for this job will treat all individuals with care, with relationships built on trust, mutual respect and the acceptance of responsibility.
To be successful in this role, the Science teacher will have the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to teach Science up to Year 12 level and with lower secondary students to improve student outcomes. The teacher may also be required to teach some Digital Technology.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team to enable all students to learn and study at school in a cooperative and positive environment. You will ideally be highly organised, have excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve instructional practice. Proven skills in behaviour management, contemporary knowledge and a proven record of professional engagement will be highly regarded. You will ideally have a demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
