You will provide high level, client-focused financial management and financial accounting functions, quality advice and service to business areas on matters involving financial processing, financial management and performance to the National Injury Insurance Agency, Queensland (NIISQ Agency), Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and Nominal Defendant (ND) (collectively referred to as the Motor Accident Insurance Schemes Queensland or MAIS-Q).

About you

- Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts, financial processing and reconciliation practices.
- Demonstrated experience applying public sector financial practices, policies and procedures in a government or similarly complex operating environment practices.
- Proven organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, identify issues and takeappropriate action to support accurate and timely outcomes.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build productive relationships, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and support compliance with financial processes and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture, and support shared priorities in a flexible and customer-focused workplace.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and sound judgement in reviewing financial information, maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance with policies, delegations and internal control requirements.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to confidently use, or quickly learn, relevant financial management systems.
Qualifications/Licenses
While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business, or management will be highly regarded.

This role is based at our Brisbane City office. We support flexible work including hybrid work arrangements for this role.
