Role Description

The Product Designer – Activewear will be responsible for creating and developing commercially relevant activewear ranges across women's, men's and children's categories.

Working collaboratively with the wider team, the designer will identify market opportunities, research trends and develop seasonal collections that align with customer and brand direction. While the role will involve evolving and adapting existing concepts where appropriate, it also requires the ability to contribute original ideas, seasonal direction and product innovation.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of colour, branding, garment construction and performance fabrics, together with the ability to translate trends into commercially successful activewear collections. They will be highly organised, motivated and comfortable managing multiple ranges and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities





- Develop commercially relevant activewear ranges across women's, men's and children's categories.

- Research global activewear, fashion and lifestyle trends to identify opportunities for future ranges.

- Create seasonal mood boards, colour palettes, trend boards and overall range direction.

- Develop cohesive seasonal collections that balance fashion, functionality and commercial appeal.

- Identify new product opportunities and contribute fresh ideas that align with customer and market requirements.

- Develop and evolve existing concepts into commercially successful activewear collections while contributing original ideas, seasonal direction and product innovation.

- Design logos, branding concepts, garment graphics and branding applications across multiple product categories.

- Create colour-blocked garments and coordinate colour stories across seasonal collections.

- Design garment branding details including heat transfers, reflective prints, trims, labels, elastics, tapes and other activewear detailing.

- Produce product storyboards, design presentations and technical artwork using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

- Prepare artwork, colourways and product specifications for sampling and production.

- Work closely with Production Assistants and Garment Technicians to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the development process.

- Review samples and provide clear comments on colour, branding, fit, construction, fabrication and overall product execution.

- Ensure all designs meet commercial objectives, customer expectations, quality standards and target price points.

- Maintain awareness of competitor activity,



emerging trends, fabric innovations and developments within the activewear market.

- Manage multiple projects, seasonal deadlines and customer priorities simultaneously.

- Collaborate effectively with Sales, Production, Garment Technology and other internal stakeholders throughout the product development process.

- Develop ranges in collaboration with the Sales team to deliver customer-specific solutions while identifying opportunities to introduce new products, colour direction and seasonal innovation.

Key Skills & Attributes

- Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Graphic Design or a related discipline.

- Previous experience as an Activewear Designer, Product Designer or Apparel Designer.

- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.

- Demonstrated experience developing commercially successful apparel or activewear collections.

- Strong understanding of activewear product, market trends and consumer expectations.

- Excellent eye for colour, branding, garment detailing and overall product aesthetics.

- Experience creating cohesive seasonal collections and colour stories.

- Sound knowledge of performance fabrics, garment construction, fit and functionality.

- Understanding of trims, branding techniques, heat transfers, reflective applications and garment embellishment.

- Ability to interpret market trends and translate them into commercially successful products.

- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate design concepts clearly.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Self-motivated, adaptable and solutions-focused.

- Positive attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team setting.
