- Temporary full time teaching opportunity
- Commencing September until end of Term 4 with possible extension
- Ability to teach Senior QCAA Biology, highly desirable
About the Role
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Teacher to join our Junior High teaching team from September until the end of 2026. There is the potential for this role to then extend through Semester 1 2027. Join a collaborative teaching team and share your passion for Science by delivering engaging, purposeful lessons that drive strong student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Science curriculum and the College's teaching framework.
- Identify diverse learning needs and plan experiences that enable all students to achieve success.
- Assess and provide both positive and critical feedback that monitors progress and gives transparent, actionable steps for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting to be able to provide students and parents with detail and informative written and oral reports.
- Support wellbeing and manage behaviour by building rapport, maintaining an orderly classroom, and following up concerns in line with policy.
- Contribute to the College community and professional practice through teamwork, cocurricular involvement, administration, supervision and ongoing development.
What You Bring
- A relevant Graduate Teaching qualification and current Queensland Teacher Registration.
- Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum development and implementation,
and contemporary educational issues.
- Proven classroom teaching capability, including effective planning, delivery, classroom management, assessment and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed organiser and time management skills.
- Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values.

St Peters Lutheran College (Indooroopilly) is a P-12 coeducational day and boarding college of 2,250 students. The Lower Primary with Years Prep–4 has three classes at each level. The Upper Primary provides a program tailored to meet the needs of students in Years 5–6. St Peters Junior High offers Years 7-9 students a program to support young adolescents. The Senior School provides a program for Years 10–12 with the International Baccalaureate Diploma offered alongside VET and QSA courses.
