We are seeking to establish a pool of School Psychologists for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The pool will initially be used to fill current vacancies located in Derby, Fitzroy Crossing, Kununurra and Halls Creek with applicants located or willing to locate to these areas being strongly encouraged to apply. The pool may also be used to appoint successful applicants to permanent and fixed term vacancies as they arise in Broome.

The Role
As a school psychologist with the Kimberley Education Region, you will be joining a dynamic team of psychologists, ranging from early career to many years of experience, and may work in various schools across different locations within the region. Suitable applicants will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The role will involve building and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships within and external to the Department of Education, a strong understanding of case management, ability to consult widely, and work effectively as both part of a team and independently when required, supporting better outcomes for all students. The school psychologist provides psychological services and evidence-based assessments and interventions in mental health and well-being, behaviour, risk and critical incident management, learning and disability. As a school psychologist you will ideally exercise professional reflexivity and work in culturally responsive ways to create conditions for culturally safe care.

Eligibility
- hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
