ShawX Manufacturing is an Australian manufacturer of innovative EjectX truck bodies, designed and built for the heavy transport, asphalt and civil industries.
We are growing our manufacturing operation and are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter Team Leader to join our team and play an important role of coordinating the assembly, installation and commissioning of our EjectX truck bodies.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys working with mechanical equipment and wants to be part of a growing Australian manufacturing business.
About the Role
As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for the coordination and mechanical assembly and installation of EjectX truck bodies onto heavy vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead & supervise daily fit up and assembly activities
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of EjectX truck bodies including hydraulic components
- Allocate labour ,resources & monitor workflow to achieve production targets
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Ensure quality standards are met
- Conduct required pre-start & toolbox meetings
- Drive compliance with WHS policies and procedures
- Conducting testing and final quality checks
- Maintain production records, checklists & quality documentation
- Support Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in their workmanship.
You will ideally have:
- Previous Team Leader or Supervisor experience in mechanical fitting/manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience in fitment of truck bodies/ heavy industrial manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- High attention to detail
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
- Good problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and a positive attitude
