About the Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in regional NSW. Reporting directly to the Head of Projects, you will take full responsibility for project delivery from mobilisation through construction, commissioning and handover.

Leading a multidisciplinary team across project management, engineering, construction, project controls, commercial, HSE and quality, you will drive project performance while managing key client relationships, commercial outcomes and overall project strategy.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the safe, commercial and successful delivery of a major utility‑scale BESS project
- Manage project strategy, program, budget, forecasting and commercial performance




- Provide leadership and direction to Senior Project Managers, Delivery Managers and multidisciplinary project teams
- Build and maintain robust relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders
- Identify and manage project risks while driving safety, quality and contractual compliance
- Oversee project delivery through construction, commissioning, testing and final handover

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Proven experience delivering major EPC, energy or infrastructure projects in a Project Director, Project Lead or Senior Project Manager capacity
- Strong leadership experience managing large multidisciplinary project teams
- Demonstrated responsibility for project budgets, commercial performance and program delivery
- Experience delivering projects through construction, commissioning and completion
- Excellent client management, stakeholder engagement and commercial negotiation skills

Highly Regarded

- Utility‑scale BESS, renewable energy, transmission, substations or power infrastructure experience
- Civil or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience delivering projects valued in excess of $100M
- Strong understanding of EPC delivery, project controls and contract administration
