We are seeking Ambulance Attendants and Patient Transport Officers for permanent full-time positions based at the Epsom Branch in the Loddon Mallee region. To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must be available to attend a mandatory four-week induction program commencing on Monday, 9 November 2026.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Team Manager or Senior Team Manager, employees work Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 8:00pm on either 8 or 10-hour shifts, depending on the role and operational requirements. Some roster patterns may include weekend work.
As part of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport team, you will provide safe, respectful and patient-centred transport services while supporting positive patient outcomes across the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing safe, compassionate and effective patient care and transport.
- Responding promptly to allocated cases and supporting efficient service delivery.
- Completing patient care documentation accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conducting safe vehicle operations and maintaining vehicles and equipment to Ambulance Victoria standards.
- Delivering effective patient handovers and communicating professionally with patients, healthcare providers and stakeholders.
- Promoting a safe workplace through compliance with policies,
procedures and safety requirements.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the requirements for either the Ambulance Attendant (ATA) role or the Patient Transport Officer (PTO) role.
- HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 400 hours of supervised clinical practice completed within a two-year period.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Scope of Practice, Clinical Practice Guidelines and regulatory requirements relevant to the role.
- Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or equivalent ambulance qualification.
- Minimum 100 hours of supervised clinical practice completed within a two-year period.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Scope of Practice, Clinical Practice Guidelines and regulatory requirements relevant to the role.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Hold valid and current unrestricted Australian work rights.
- Drive and operate any of AV's operational fleet.
- Attend a mandatory four-week induction program in metropolitan Melbourne commencing Monday 9 November 2026.
- Reside within approximately 45-60 minutes of the advertised work location to support fatigue management requirements.
