As part of theCultural Assessment and Liaison Team (CALT), you will support Aboriginal andTorres Strait Islander people accessing Child and Youth Mental Health Servicesby providing culturally safe support,guidanceand advocacy. Workingalongside multidisciplinary mental health teams, you’ll help strengthencultural safety, support positive careexperiencesand contribute tobetter wellbeing outcomes for children, youngpeopleandfamilies.

In this roleyou will:
- Provide cultural support, advocacy and guidance toAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, youngpeople,familiesand carers
- Contribute to culturally informed assessment andtreatment planning
- Support clinicians and multidisciplinary teams todeliver culturally safe care
- Provide cultural supervision and advice to staffacross the Mental Health Service Group
- Strengthenpartnershipswith AboriginalandTorresStrait Islander communityorganisationsandstakeholders
- Contribute to health promotion initiativessupporting mental health,wellbeingand substance misuseprevention

Requirements
Under section25 of theAnti-Discrimination Act 1991, this is an identifiedposition, and applicants must beIndigenous to theAboriginal and/orTorres Strait Islandercommunity.
Applicantsmustholda Certificate IV or Diploma in one of the following:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres StraitIslander Primary Health
- Certificate IV in Mental Health
- Certificate IV in AlcoholandOtherDrugs
A suitableapplicant who does not currently hold a relevant qualification may beconsidered for a temporary appointment while undertaking a supported trainingpathway. Upon successful completion, the employeewillprogress to apermanent appointment.
- Eligibility to obtain andmaintaina BlueCard (Working with Children Check)
- A current Class C driver’s licence
