We have a Psychologist position available in Mackay, and we can shape your caseload, paediatric-focused, adult-focused, or a blend, around your interests and experience.

ATS is a registered NDIS provider and delivers psychological services across a range of funding streams, including Medicare, WorkCover QLD, Comcare, NIISQ, private health and as an Associated Provider for aged care. This means you'll gain broad clinical experience across diverse client groups and funding models, all within a single, well-supported practice.

About the role

As a Psychologist in our Mackay clinic, you'll deliver high-quality psychological services to children, adults, seniors and their families, carers and support networks. You'll work in-clinic, in the community and via telehealth, depending on client needs.

Your day-to-day will include:

Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments (for example cognitive, adaptive functioning, social and emotional, behavioural and diagnostic assessment, and mental health screening)

Developing individualised therapy plans, goals and evidence-based intervention strategies in collaboration with support networks

Delivering evidence-based psychological intervention (for example CBT,



ACT and other modalities) across clinic, home, school, community and telehealth settings

Writing clear, timely reports within company timeframes

Collaborating with carers, families, support workers, educators and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each person

Contributing to the development of specialist resources, training and information programs for families and support agencies

Maintaining accurate client records and documentation in line with NDIS Practice Standards, the Psychology Board of Australia's requirements and company procedures

At least 70% of your calendar time will be dedicated to client-facing, billable service delivery.

What you'll bring





Tertiary qualification in Psychology from a recognised university

Current AHPRA general registration as a Psychologist, or provisional registration working toward general registration

Current Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening) or willingness to obtain

Current Blue Card (Working with Children) or willingness to obtain

Current and unrestricted driver's licence and own vehicle

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team

A genuine passion for working with adults, seniors and/or children

Commercially aware approach, understanding the importance of financial viability in a private practice setting

Experience working within the NDIS

An AHPRA area of practice endorsement (for example clinical psychology), or enrolment in a registrar program

Familiarity with common psychological assessment tools

Experience delivering services via telehealth and in regional or remote communities

A current Medicare provider number and experience delivering under Better Access

Location: Mackay, QLD. This is primarily an on-site role with telehealth delivery as part of the mix.

Hours: Full time (part-time, 3 or 4 days, also considered).

Travel: Occasional travel within the Mackay region to deliver community-based services. There are potential opportunities for outreach where interested.
