Reporting to the Assistant Director, HR and Corporate Services, the Payroll and HR Business Partner is primarily responsible for delivering payroll coordination and recruitment administration services and works closely with the Senior HR Business Partner. The position also assists in key HR initiatives relating to the payroll, recruitment, staff development and training, HR support services within the agency.

As one of the points of contact of Cancer Australia, the Payroll and HR Business Partner plays a key role in customer service for our internal customers and the coordination of key outsourced services. The position provides a range of corporate services, including HR reporting, payroll support and security vetting.

The key duties of the position include:

Key accountabilities include:

- Ensuring all staffing changes (including current starters, exits, promotions, transfers, higher duties, etc) are recorded in a timely manner, and all salary and benefits (including leave) are updated in the HR/payroll system.
- Manage each payroll run on time and in accordance with finance and audit requirements.
- Provide payroll helpdesk function for Cancer Australia employees, assisting with enquiries, managing requests for information and resolving issues and/or errors in system.
- Handle and triage HR shared inbox, resolve queries, and troubleshoot system errors.




- Manage HR reporting including monthly payroll and staff establishment reports and other HR and payroll compliance reporting for audit, reviews as required.
- Monitor and reporting of whole of agency time recording (flex sheets) and update organisational charts,
- Support recruitment activities including advertising vacancies, administering assessments and arranging approvals in collaboration with hiring managers and the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Assist the Senior HR Business Partner with the workforce development planning and implementation.
- Advise employees about their salary and conditions of employment (as defined in the enterprise agreement, staff determination and relevant legislation) and about relevant HR practices (as defined in HR policies and guidelines).
- Support and assist with Work Health and Safety initiatives and requirements.
- Support security vetting security clearances processes.
- Other corporate services administration and support when required, including but not limited to:
- Assisting the Human Resources team and the Finance and Corporate group with administrative support;
- Assisting in onboarding of current employees and exit of departing employees and
- Assist in ICT and property services.

Eligibility

Must be an Australian Citizen.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks and may be required to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance (minimum requirement depending on role)
