The Role

The Manager, Records and Administrative Support will deliver an efficient and effective health care record management by planning; reviewing; evaluating and implementing change to achieve organisational outcomes. The Manager, Records and Administrative Support forms part of the senior management team within the Clinical Information Service under the Directorate of Financial Services. Further, this position forms part of the Health Records management team within the Clinical Information Service.

The Manager, Records and Administrative Support is responsible for overseeing the Medico-legal Section of the Clinical Information Service by ensuring that deadlines are met and that information is released under Health Records and Information Privacy Act (2002) and other relevant policies and procedures. In addition to this, the position will provide administrative support for the Manager, Records and Administrative Services including recruitment and on boarding, rostering, transcription services and ongoing quality improvement activities.

Selection Criteria

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management and/or relevant equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation
- Demonstrated ability to perform a range of management and administrative tasks, monitoring and managing work priorities to enable adjustments to workflow as required
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of legislation and policies relevant to release of information and health record management




- Proven ability to implement strategies to ensure efficient and effective service by planning; reviewing; evaluating and implementing change to achieve organisational outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders, including the ability to negotiate; influence and communicate effectively
- Experience in the use of software packages including Word, Outlook, Patient and Clinical Information Systems.
