Salary range: $65,748 + 13.5% superannuation.

About The Role

The City of Hobart is seeking a proactive and environmentally conscious Litter Patrol Officer to join our Waste Management Centre team.

In this hands‑on role, you will help protect the workplace and support the safe operation of the Waste Management Centre by undertaking and coordinating litter patrol activities, weed management, and general landfill operations. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the site continues to meet environmental and operational standards.

Role Accountabilities Include

- Coordinating and undertaking litter patrol activities across the Waste Management Centre.
- Supporting weed management programs, including spraying and vegetation control.
- Assisting with general landfill operations and routine maintenance activities.
- Working collaboratively with team members while also being comfortable working independently.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, contractors and members of the public.
- Contributing to a safe, environmentally responsible and efficient workplace.
- Supporting continuous improvement and a positive safety culture.

About You

You are a reliable and self-motivated team player who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to environmental outcomes for the community.

You bring a strong commitment to safety, can organise your work effectively, and take pride in delivering quality outcomes.



You are comfortable working autonomously when required and can confidently identify and streamline operational issues.

Ideally, You Will Have

- Experience working in operational, maintenance, waste management, environmental or similar outdoor-based environments.
- An understanding of workplace health and safety practices and environmental compliance requirements.
- The ability to plan and prioritise daily tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- A commitment to the City of Hobart's values and behavioural standards.
- Certificate III in Waste Management (desirable).
