Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

The Team & Role

The AUFV Intake and Assessment Practitioner is a valued member of the Family Violence Program at Bayside Health, working within The Orange Door to support women, children and young people, families experiencing family violence, adults who use violence, and families requiring support with the care, development and wellbeing of children. Based within the Bayside Health team at the Frankston Orange Door site, the role forms part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team that provides intake, assessment, crisis response, service planning and coordinated referrals. Working with high-risk family violence cases, the practitioner undertakes comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning, processes referrals, conducts client outreach,



and supports access to appropriate services and family violence prevention programs. The role contributes to a coordinated approach to client care, delivers culturally aware services, and maintains high standards of documentation, quality assurance, professional development and clinical practice.

Skills & Experience Required

- Highly developed interpersonal skills. This should include excellent written and verbal communications skills and proficient skills in collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution
- Relevant qualification in Social Sciences or related fields
- Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Recommendation 209)
- Experience in related Family Violence, child wellbeing or family services sectors
- Demonstrable risk management and safety planning skills and a familiarity with MARAM.
- Current member or eligible for AASW membership.
