Salary from $73,561.18 - $79,301.70 pro rata plus 12% Superannuation.

Willoughby City Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Governance Administration Officer to support Council's governance, information access and privacy functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the integrity, transparency and accountability of Council's operations. Working within the Governance, Risk and Compliance team, you will assist with the administration of access to information requests, privacy matters, statutory registers, proactive disclosure obligations and broader governance processes that support effective decision-making across the organisation.

About the Role

As the Governance Administration Officer , you will:

Support the processing of formal and informal access to information requests under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA), Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP) and Health Records and Information Privacy Act (HRIPA).





Assist with proactive disclosure initiatives, including the preparation and publication of Council's open access information obligations.

Maintain statutory information access resources including the Agency Information Guide and Disclosure Log.

Support privacy complaint management processes, including maintaining registers and reporting requirements.

Provide administrative and meeting support including registers, records, permits, agendas, minutes and governance documentation.

Assist with training and awareness activities relating to governance, privacy and access to information.

Contribute to governance, probity and compliance frameworks that support effective decision-making across Council.

Actively participate in the Governance team's work program and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

Experience in local government or a related regulatory environment.

Strong administrative and records management skills, including experience with EDMS and CRM systems, preferably TechnologyOne.

Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.

Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and prioritise work to meet deadlines.

Knowledge of GIPA, PPIP, HRIPA and associated recordkeeping obligations.

Ability to support the preparation and publication of open access information.





Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team workplace and contribute to shared outcomes.

Familiarity with proactive disclosure practices or data breach notification frameworks.

Experience supporting meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking and action tracking.
