About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and driven full-time Sous Chef to join The Waratah.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping lead service, maintain high standards and ensure the team is set up for success.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead and coordinate the kitchen team during busy services
- Run the pass when required, maintaining consistency, quality and presentation
- Take ownership of prep, sections and service readiness
- Assist with ordering, stock control, rostering, wastage and cost management
- Train, support and mentor junior members of the kitchen team
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation
- Take ownership of the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
