THE ROLE

As team leader, you will manage a team of 3 and cover:

Customer Experience & Service Excellence

- Keep customers, brokers, and solicitors in the loop with proactive, professional communication.
- Be the default person for tricky escalations — resolve with urgency and confidence.
- Spot friction points and fix them before they become problems.

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, coach, and grow a team of 3 Settlements Officers.
- Set the bar high on service, quality, and productivity — then help the team explicit it.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and genuine engagement.

Settlement Operations

- Own the pipeline: drive settlements to meet commitments and turnaround targets.
- Jump in to unblock complex settlements when the team needs backup.

Stakeholder Relationships

- Build real relationships with brokers, customers, solicitors, and internal teams
- Bring a partnership mindset — transparent, collaborative, outcomes-focused.

Quality, Risk & Compliance

- Keep settlements compliant, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Flag risks and delays early — before they escalate.

Continuous Improvement

- Turn feedback and data into action — drive smarter, faster, better settlements.
- Champion new tech, tools, and process upgrades.

This fast-growing business has a vibrant & close-knit culture and has tripled in size in the last 4 years.

Hybrid working available - 1 day from home, 4 in the office.

A Bit About You

This would be an ideal role for you if you:

- Have prior leadership experience (desired)
- Over-communicate with stakeholders - you know how important it is to keep everyone updated on the progress of settlements
- Default to picking up the phone over sending an email
- Want to learn about loan servicing/credit/other roles - in this team you'll be cross trained & upskilled on other tasks
- Enjoy process improvement & change management - this business is at an exciting point in their growth strategy

Ideally you'll have non-bank lending experience or be coming from a small-mid sized bank.

Salary c.$110-130,000 + superannuation + discretionary bonus
