Responsible for program implementation and continued oversight of program initiatives to improve outcomes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The Senior Program Officer will project manage various programs, provide guidance and advice, and collaborate with stakeholders in the homelessness sector and state and local governments.

The Senior Program Officer will work across initiatives led by the Housing First Models Team including Homes First, Supportive Housing, Crisis Supported Accommodation - Therapeutic Model, Journey to Social Inclusion, and Arc PAD.

The Senior Program Officer will work closely with team members in the Homelessness and Sustaining Housing Outcomes Branch to ensure that programs are implemented within the direction of broader homelessness reform, as well as system reforms across the department.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

- Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
- Undertaking research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs, including implementation planning.




- The development and delivery of policy advice and projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
- Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Monitoring and identifying risks and appropriately managed.

- Provide explicit, concise and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present correspondence, reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions.
- Represent and support the Unit on stakeholder committees and groups concerned with achieving government and departmental objectives and contribute to relevant committee and governance processes.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.

Preferred candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening, including a national police check and misconduct screening.
