About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a Washbay Operator to join our team on a temporary full-time basis for up to 12 months. The position is based out ourpurpose built integrated facility in Alexandria which is shared withWaverly Council.

Reporting to the Senior Stores Officer, you will beresponsible for the effective day-to-day operation, coordination and maintenance of Council's wash bay facility, ensuring all plant, fleet and equipment cleaning activities are undertaken safely, efficiently and in compliance with environmental, operational and workplace health and safety requirements. Some of your key duties will be to:

- Maintain a clean, functional and compliant wash bay workplace.
- Support Council's fleet and operational services by ensuring vehicles, plant and equipment are cleaned and available for service in a timely manner.
- Support the Depot Stores function with the receipting, storage, control and distribution of materials, equipment and consumables used across Council's operational teams.

About you

The successful Candidate will demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively and perform various cleaning and labouring duties where no two days are the same.



You will be a dedicated team player with a can do attitude.

- Current Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence (HR).
- Current Forklift Licence (LF).
- Ability to undertake manual handling tasks and work in an outdoor operational environment.
- Experience working within a depot, workshop, logistics, fleet, construction or operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and effectively manage daily work activities.
- Basic computer skills with experience using inventory, purchasing, receipting or asset management systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a range of internal stakeholders.
- Current Confined Space Entry Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
- Experience in stores, warehousing or inventory control.
- Experience operating heavy vehicles, plant or fleet equipment.
