ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Guided by a renewed purpose to inspire, connect and transform, AWA is evolving from a connector of water professionals into a catalyst for system-wide change.

Reporting to the CEO and working alongside three peers on the senior leadership team, you’ll lead the teams responsible for strengthening member value and aligning membership, engagement, events and marketing communications to deliver a more connected member experience.

This role will see you:

- lead the member engagement, marketing and events teams,



via three direct reports
- set the strategic direction and own products and services across membership, marketing and events
- oversee a significant events strategy including Australia's flagship water event
- build on a strong track record to continue member growth, retention and conversion
- manage business capabilities across people, budget and technology
- prepare business cases, revenue and other reporting for the Board
- manage external contractors, suppliers and event partners to ensure strong service delivery.
- contribute to AWA's broader agenda, working closely with peers across advocacy and capability; people and culture; and finance, data and technology.

ABOUT YOU

- You have a background leading strategy, delivery and teams across membership, events and/or marketing.
- You're an experienced, collaborative and commercially-minded leader with a positive approach and strong communication skills.
- You have strong financial acumen and can balance purpose with commercial discipline.
- You have a track record leading high-performing teams — transparent on accountability, quality and effective resourcing and comfortable making decisions and taking action while staying genuinely people-first.
- You understand the link between strategy and delivery and have experience leading membership, events, marketing and/or customer experience teams including member lifecycle, value proposition and the metrics and indicators which drive performance.
- You have confidence operating at Board level, including preparing and presenting papers.
- You’re comfortable with complexity, have a growth mindset and enjoy building systems and capability to enable the best results.
- While water or association sector experience is not a prerequisite, you have a genuine interest in doing work that matters in a purpose-driven organisation.
