MBA (Human Resources)- Recruitment Specialist - Substation Engineering & Design

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Primary Design Manager in Sydney, NSW for our client, a well-established and growing organisation in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead design efforts for transformative, large-scale projects in the power transmission and distribution industry, focusing specifically on primary electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the design of multi-billion-dollar projects in the power, transmission, and distribution sectors, particularly in primary electrical systems design. Ensure designs meet client requirements, industry standards, and project timelines.
- Provide overall direction to design teams working on primary electrical systems such as substations, switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and high-voltage equipment. Ensure all designs are optimized for cost, safety, and functionality.
- Act as the main liaison with the client, managing expectations and ensuring alignment on substation design requirements and project deliverables.
- Lead and coordinate a team of engineers, setting clear objectives and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve project milestones.
- Develop and review design drawings, schematics, and technical documentation for substation components and overall layouts.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and design team members, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.

Required Experience:

- Experience managing the design process for large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, including coordinating design teams focused on primary electrical systems.
- While the role is predominantly focused on oversight,



some hands-on experience in primary electrical design and problem-solving is necessary, particularly in addressing critical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Proven expertise in industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to substation design.
- Demonstrated success in managing client relationships and aligning technical deliverables with project timelines and quality standards.
- Robust design management skills, with experience guiding diverse engineering teams to achieve complex project goals.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to developing effective and compliant design solutions.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
