About Us
Kasmo Design is a Melbourne-based design and product house behind a portfolio of accessory brands, including Morgan & Taylor. We're a small, hands-on in-house team - everyone works closely together, and this role will work directly alongside our GM, our Production Manager, and our Product Coordinator.
About the Role
This is a newly created, genuinely hybrid role - split between original design work for our accessory ranges and hands-on support for our Product Coordinator. If you have a real eye for design but also enjoy the operational side of getting product made - sample tracking, customer order support, range admin - this is a rare role that lets you do both, rather than sitting behind a desk only sketching. You'll work directly with our GM on new range development and design direction, and our Production Manager handles overseas sourcing and purchasing, so your focus stays on design and customer-facing support. We're open to this being full-time or part-time, depending on the right person.
What You'll Do
- Research trends and develop original design concepts for our accessory ranges, from mood board through to CAD
- Create and amend CADs, spec sheets, and range boards using Adobe Illustrator, ready to hand to our Production Manager for sourcing
- Support the Product Coordinator with sample handling,
customer order administration, and account queries
- Contribute a design/aesthetic eye to range selection, working alongside our Product Coordinator (who owns buy quantities and commercial decisions)
- Help maintain range data, costings, and product information across our systems
- Work directly with our GM on seasonal trend research and recent range development
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years' experience in a design, product development, or buying role - fashion, footwear, or accessories experience highly regarded
- A genuine design eye and strong CAD skills (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop)
- Comfort splitting time between creative and operational work - this isn't a pure design role, and won't suit someone who only wants to design
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, flexible attitude
- A confident communicator, comfortable supporting customer queries when needed
What's On Offer
- Competitive salary, based on experience
- Full-time or part-time, in-house role in Kensington - flexible for the right candidate
- Direct mentorship from our GM on design and range curation
- A genuinely varied role - real design ownership alongside operational involvement, not just one or the other
