Laboratory Assistant - John Flynn Private Hospital

Join a Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology team supporting the John Flynn Private Hospital . In this hands-on role, you will play a vital part in the laboratory process, ensuring specimens are handled accurately and efficiently to support timely patient diagnosis and care.

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work across a rotating roster, with shifts scheduled between 6:00am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday, including availability to work on weekends and public holidays.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

Performing pre-analytical processes accurately

Load laboratory instruments and assist with general lab duties

Manage incoming phone enquiries in a professional and timely manner

Collect specimens from hospital wards and transport them safely to the laboratory (as required)

What we are looking for

We are seeking a dependable team member with a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. As this role supports hospital patients, a strong commitment to customer service is essential.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organisational and time management skills

Commitment to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies and procedures

Previous experience in pathology services and/or knowledge of Apollo (desirable but not essential)
