Medical Edge Australia is looking for qualified Ambulance Attendants to join our growing Non-Emergency Patient Transport team.

This is a frontline clinical role for people who enjoy being out on the road, working directly with patients and using their training in a practical setting. You’ll work alongside another qualified NEPT crew member, assessing and caring for patients and ensuring they are transported safely, professionally and with dignity.

What you'll be doing

As an Ambulance Attendant, you'll be part of an operational NEPT crew responding to dispatched patient transport cases.

You’ll undertake thorough patient assessments, monitor patients throughout transport and provide appropriate clinical care within your scope of practice. You’ll also recognise deterioration or situations requiring a higher level of care and elevate appropriately.

Day to day, you'll:

- Assess patients and record clinical observations
- Provide ongoing care and monitoring during transport
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families and healthcare professionals
- Safely operate NEPT vehicles and medical equipment
- Respond appropriately if a patient's condition changes or deteriorates
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and patient records




- Work closely with your crewmate and the wider operational team
- Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, confidentiality and professionalism

The role requires strong clinical judgement, problem solving and the ability to remain calm and decisive when circumstances change.

Who we're looking for

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.

We're particularly interested in candidates who are:

- Professional, calm and confident with patients
- Strong communicators who can explain clinical information in an easy to understand way
- Comfortable making decisions within their scope of practice
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a two-person crew
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Committed to patient dignity, safety and confidentiality
- Physically capable of undertaking the patient and equipment handling requirements of an operational role

To be considered, you'll need:

- A minimum Diploma of Paramedical Science, or equivalent qualification recognised by the Department of Health
- 400 hours of clinically supervised practice , as required by the Department of Health
- Relevant industry experience
- You’ll also need a sound understanding of clinical assessment, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, medical terminology and the recognition and management of a deteriorating patient.
