About Congress:

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service providing comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal people across Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and surrounding remote communities.

As part of the NDIS Allied Health team, you’ll work alongside Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Aboriginal Allied Health Assistants, cultural advisors and other health professionals.

About the Role:

Based primarily in Alice Springs, you’ll provide culturally responsive Speech Pathology services to children and young people with a range of developmental and disability-related needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

With support from experienced clinical supervisors and managers, you will:

- Provide assessment and evidence-based intervention within your scope of practice
- Support speech sound, expressive and receptive language development
- Develop skills in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Support emotional regulation and social participation
- Develop individualised goals and care plans with children and families
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team




- Build your clinical skills through supervision and career development
- Deliver services across schools, homes, childcare centres, clinics and community settings
- Participate in occasional remote outreach

About You:

- Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification
- Current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia
- Genuine interest in paediatric and community-based practice
- Flexible, creative and willing to learn
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to culturally responsive and person-centred care
- Understanding of Aboriginal health and the importance of self-determination
- Current NT Driver Licence or equivalent
- Willingness to travel to remote communities
- Knowledge of the NDIS and experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation will be highly regarded.
