Experienced Veterinary Nurse – Full-Time Preferred / Part-Time Considered
Location: Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs, VIC
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established, independent small-animal veterinary hospital in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

About the Role
This is a hands-on nursing position where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to utilise and further develop a broad range of veterinary nursing skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Anaesthetic monitoring and perioperative patient care
- Blood collection and sample preparation
- IV catheter placement
- In-house diagnostics and laboratory work
- Cytology
- Nurse consultations
- Patient monitoring and hospital care
- Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
- Safe and compassionate handling of cats and dogs
- Client communication and education
- Maintaining high standards of patient welfare and nursing care
Training and support will be provided for nurses who require further development or upskilling in specific areas.
Work-Life Balance

Full-time nurses will work a four-day week , with:
- No Sunday work
- No Public Holiday work
- Only occasional Saturday work when required

About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Certificate IV qualified in Veterinary Nursing
- Experienced, with a minimum of two years' veterinary nursing experience
- Confident with anaesthesia and patient monitoring
- Comfortable handling both cats and dogs
- Familiar with fear-free and low-stress handling techniques
- Motivated, responsible and proactive
- Well organised with strong time-management skills
- Passionate about patient welfare and delivering exceptional nursing care
- Committed to ongoing professional development
- A positive team member who enjoys collaborating with veterinarians and fellow nurses
