Optimum Health Solutions is a multidisciplinary allied health provider with clinics across NSW and Tasmania, covering Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Exercise Physiology, Dietetics, Podiatry and Behaviour Support. We're growing our community nursing team to support NDIS participants across Cessnock, the Hunter Valley and Maitland, anchored around our Cessnock clinic.
We're looking for a Registered Nurse who's comfortable working independently in the community, and who brings both clinical skill and a genuine, easy manner with participants and their families.
About the role
This is a part time position to start and real opportunity to move into full time as your caseload grows. You'll be visiting NDIS participants in their homes and communities across Cessnock and the Hunter Valley.
Day to day, you might be doing any of the following:
- Wound care and pressure injury management
- Catheter insertion and management (IDC/SPC)
- PEG feeding and enteral nutrition support
- Medication administration
- Continence assessment and product recommendations
- Building real relationships with participants over repeat visits, not just one-off appointments
What you'll need
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), no conditions or undertakings
- Minimum 3 years post-graduate nursing experience
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance, or willing to obtain
- National Police Check, or willing to obtain
- Working with Children Check (NSW), or willing to obtain
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module completed before you start
- Current CPR (HLTAID009) and First Aid (HLTAID011)
- Unrestricted Australian driver's licence, your own reliable vehicle, comprehensive insurance
- Right to work in Australia
- Willing to travel across the region
Good to have, not essential
- Community nursing experience
- Confidence across wound care and pressure injury management, catheter insertion and management (IDC/SPC), PEG feeding and enteral nutrition, and medication administration
- Venepuncture and cannulation
- Compression bandaging and negative pressure wound therapy
- Continence assessment and product prescription
- Working knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and Aged Care Quality Standards
- Confidence working autonomously as a lone worker, in the community or in clinic
The cherry on top
- Post-graduate qualification (or equivalent) in wound care, Wound CNC
- Stomal Therapy Nurse (STN)
