Our client, a leading data centre developer, is at the forefront of critical infrastructure development in Victoria, with a rapidly growing pipeline of high-voltage (HV) transmission projects. With increasing demands for power capacity, we are seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager experienced in HV transmission (220kV+) to manage and deliver transmission infrastructure that supports the growth of their state-of-the-art data centres.

This hands-on role is ideal for a professional with end-to-end HV transmission project lifecycle experience, from early-stage planning to energisation. Responsibilities

As a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering HV transmission infrastructure projects. Key duties include:

- Lead the end-to-end delivery of HV transmission projects (220kV and above), including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and energisation.
- Oversee and coordinate GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) works as a critical component of transmission projects.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk registers, ensuring risks are proactively identified, escalated, and mitigated.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external contractors, utilities, and regulatory bodies to drive project success.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with stringent safety protocols, technical specifications, and compliance standards.
- Provide clear and consistent reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Implement and support continuous improvement strategies as the project portfolio scales.

Qualifications





- Proven project management experience in HV Transmission (220kV and above) projects.
- Hands-on experience with GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) technology.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle , from early-stage planning to final energisation.
- Experience managing the construction phase in live infrastructure environments .
- Ability to effectively interface with EPCs , utilities, and tier one contractors.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Residing in (or willing to relocate to) Victoria.
- Experience in data centre, digital infrastructure, or large-scale power connection projects .
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent transmission packages.

A Day in the Role

Your day-to-day work will consist of:

- Coordinating with cross-functional teams to develop project plans and strategies.
- Leading project scoping discussions to ensure all technical and compliance requirements are met.
- Overseeing in office construction activities, ensuring contractors adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Managing project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Communicating directly with stakeholders, regulatory officials, and utilities on project progress and challenges.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to solve technical challenges.
- Holding regular team meetings and reporting project milestones to leadership.
