Our client is a fast-growing, utility-scale renewable energy developer with a multi-gigawatt hybrid project pipeline across Australia and APAC. We are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead owner-side design management and engineering governance across a flagship utility-scale solar and battery (BESS) hybrid project in Victoria.
Summary
Reporting to the Head of Projects, the Project Engineering Manager will act as the business's senior technical representative across design, EPC interface management, construction support, commissioning readiness, lender engagement and handover. The role will ensure the project is designed and delivered to meet the organisation's technical, commercial, bankability and long-term asset performance requirements.
The role requires strong utility-scale solar and/or BESS experience, ideally gained through an EPC contractor, owner's engineer, developer or principal-side environment,
with demonstrated experience supporting projects from financial close through to Commercial Operation Date (COD).
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering degree (electrical, civil, or similar discipline).
- Chartered/Professional Engineer status (e.g. Engineers Australia) highly regarded.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in utility-scale solar and/or BESS projects.
- EPC contractor, owner's engineer, developer or principal-side engineering background.
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects from financial close through construction, commissioning and COD.
- Robust capability in design management, engineering governance and technical interface management.
- Ability to challenge EPC contractors and OEMs on technical and commercial grounds.
- Strong understanding of bankability, lender expectations, technical due diligence and independent engineer processes.
