The Opportunity
This is an exciting chance for an ambitious Finance Operations Manager wanting to develop their career in a renown ASX listed business.
The company is known for having an excellent reputation and leadership group and pride themselves on developing accounting and finance talent in Melbourne. They are looking for someone who can operate strategically and enhance their manufacturing and supply chain finance operations.
Reporting to the CFO, the responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and develop a distributed team of site-based finance business partners and cost accountants, setting clear expectations and a consistent standard of reporting and analysis across the network.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain leaders to identify, quantify and track cost-out and productivity initiatives across the plant network.
- Provide financial analysis and challenge on manufacturing overheads, labour costs, energy and consumables spend, and other site operating costs.
- Own standard costing across all ANZ manufacturing sites, including annual standard cost setting, rate reviews, and analysis of purchase price, usage, labour and overhead variances.
- Lead the month-end close process for manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate, timely and well-controlled financial results across all sites.
- Review and present monthly plant P&L; packs, KPI dashboards and management commentary to site and regional leadership.
- Drive working capital performance across the manufacturing footprint, partnering with Supply Chain and Procurement on inventory optimisation, obsolescence management and reduction.
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting (rolling forecast/latest estimate) processes for the manufacturing network, in partnership with site finance and operational leaders.
The Expertise

- CPA/CA Qualification
- Several years' experience of working within a relevant Management accounting position, ideally working with operational stakeholders in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading and developing a high performing team
- Intermediate excel skills and the ability to proactively develop financial models to guide business decisions
- Strong communication and personable skills and the ability to build trust and influence key stakeholders
