This has resulted in the creation of a highly modular and scalable product suite, which have become integral to a wide range of critical Defence capabilities.

The Position

We are looking for an experienced Work Health Safety and Environment (WHSE) Business Partner, who will provide operational WHSE advisory services to assigned business areas, ensuring risks are managed, incidents are investigated, and employees are supported to work safely.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver WHSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.

Provide specialist advice regarding hazardous chemicals, manual handling, emergency preparedness, psychosocial or environment and other.

Collaborate with managers to ensure WHSE procedures are updated, implemented and understood.

Conduct site inspections, hazard and risk assessments, and incident investigations.





Analyse WHSE data and prepare reports/papers on trends and corrective actions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives led by Senior WHSE team members.

Assist in working with the business to rectify ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 audit findings/internal audit findings and participate in audit activities to source evidence to support conformance.

Work closely with managers and all members of the WHSE team members to build robust work relationships that deliver positive results that elevate workplace safety.

Mentor and guide junior WHSE team members.

Work collaboratively with managers/supervisors to address audit outcomes, non-conformances and other findings from all audits.

Review, refine and update internal WHSE policies and procedures so they remain accurate, user friendly and compliant

Our Ideal Candidate

Degree or Diploma in WHS or related field.

3–5 years WHSE experience in a similar environment.





Thorough understanding of WHS legislation and risk management practices and Commonwealth WHS legislation, WHS Codes of Practice and to interpret the application of legislation, COPs and standards.

Demonstrated ability to influence managers and supervisors.

Keen observation skills to monitor the safety performance of the workplace and identify risks or hazards.

High level of inter-personal skills and high level of verbal/communication skills.

Demonstrated high levels of skills in Microsoft Office.

Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Baseline.
