About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Data Centres to join our team in Mlebourne. In this role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of complex data centre construction projects from inception to handover. You will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, stakeholder relationships, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet stringent quality and compliance standards. This position is pivotal to the successful delivery of mission-critical infrastructure that underpins our clients' digital operations.

Key responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end project management for data centre construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure, and implement cost control measures to ensure financial targets are met
- Coordinate with builders, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery and compliance with specifications
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying critical paths and managing dependencies
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure work meets agreed standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular progress reports and addressing concerns proactively
- Lead and mentor site teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project execution




- Facilitate handover processes and support the transition to operational teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across design, construction, and commissioning phases.

What we are looking for

- 5+ years' experience in project management within the construction industry, with a minimum of 3 years managing data centre or similar mission-critical facility projects.
- Electrical trade or engineering qualifications (Electrical Licence or tertiary qualifications highly regarded).
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget
- Strong knowledge of data centre construction standards, specifications, and compliance requirements, including ISO certifications and tier classifications
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent)
- Advanced skills in budget management, financial forecasting, and cost control
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience presenting to senior leadership
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the construction sector
- Professional qualification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing challenges
